Keith Giboney has 20 years of NCAA head coaching experience and is the seventh head coach in program history.

Giboney's volleyball roots began in Lubbock, as he coached four seasons at Lubbock Christian High School and claimed three TAPPS state titles and posted a coaching record of 110-25. He made the move to Dallas, Texas in 1997 and won a fourth TAPPS title over a two-year stint at Dallas Christian High School before transitioning to the NCAA Division II coaching ranks at Harding University in Searcy, Ark.  He spent 13 seasons at Harding and claimed seven Gulf South Conference titles and was a five-time GSC West Division Coach of the Year. Giboney had a 337-122 (.734) overall record at Harding and posted a conference record of 136-24 (.850), which included two undefeated seasons and 11 consecutive seasons of losing three matches or less. In 2010, Giboney was named the GSC Coach of the Decade. He led the Bison to four NCAA Division II Tournament appearances.

In 17 seasons coaching NCAA Division II volleyball, Giboney has a career coaching record of 404-178 (.694). He completed his Bachelor's Degree at LCU, where he met his wife Michal Warren, now his assistant coach. Michal played volleyball at LCU from 1990-93 and was the program's career digs leader when she graduated (1,677, which currently ranks eighth in program history).  Keith and Michal have two daughters: Emily and Abbey.

 

MICHAL GIBONEYMICHAL GIBONEY | ASSISTANT COACH

Michal was named the assistant volleyball coach at Lubbock Christian University in June of 2021.  Prior to her and husband Keith making the move to Lubbock, Michal coached at the high school level for 10 years including a State Championship in Arkansas in 2011.  She also spent 12 years coaching club volleyball in Arkansas. 

Michal graduated from LCU with her Bachelor’s degree in 1993 while playing volleyball (1990-1993).  She was the program’s career digs leader when she graduated (1,677, which currently ranks eighth in program history).
